THE GRAND BOYS FURNITURE RECYCLING CENTRE

TEL. 01786 810868

The Grand Boys Shop opened in 1998 and stocks a wide range of second hand furniture and household items which are donated by the general public. The shop initially was leased rent free from TheScottish Co-op Funeral Service in Scotland, and has been significantly livened up...ahem! We now have a long term lease on the premises for a nominal £1.00 per year. At present we have four volunteers who keep the shop open on a rota basis. The volunteers are Gwen,Ellen,Cheryl,Carole,Margaret and Alec who are all doing a great job.

OPENING HOURS

Mon - Frid 10am - 3pm

Sat. 10am - 2pm

Sun. 12 midday - 2pm

TYPE OF GOODS THE SHOP ACCEPTS

The Shop accepts furniture and household goods which MUST be CLEAN and in GOOD CONDITION. We have not got time or staff to be cleaning goods. Please don't leave any goods at front of shop when not open it's extra work for me. Any fabric goods eg. lounge suites, beds & mattresses MUST comply with present day fire regulations, these tabs are clearly attached to fabric goods. Chest/drawers,wardrobes,tables/chairs,bookshelves,TV units, coffee tables, general household bric a brac, ornaments, pictures are all items that we can sell on . Large lounge display units are not accepted in the shop as they are very hard to sell on and we don't have room for storage.

HOW TO DONATE GOODS

If you can't drop the items off to the shop yourself just phone 01786 810868 duing opening hours and leave your details and we can get back to you to make arrangements. However if you urgently require goods to be uplifted you will have to go elsewhere as we can't respond immediadely. Also if the shop is full we cannot take goods in until the stock goes. We try and uplift in the Stirling area only and to keep it as local as possible which saves time and fuel.

In August 2005 we were successful in a Grant Award from Increase Programme ( Scottish Excetutive ) for nearly £30,000 to have the shop refurbished. The National Lottery Awards for All granted us a further £5,000 to refit the Kitchen/workshop area, new signage ,form paths and decorate interior. Stirling Council Local Development Fund granted us another £15,000 towards a new van which is now on the road. A big thankyou goes to these bodies for ensuring The Grand Boys work goes on.

Before works began on the shop it was in very poor condition as you can see from this photo taken in October 2005.

After works were completed, the results are clear to be seen and the shop is vastly improved

We would also like to apologise to any members of the public who have phoned to offer furniture to The Grand Boys and never had it uplifted. The only thing I can say is that we are trying our best. The demand to uplift furniture is so great we can't always keep up with it. But we really do appreciate your phone calls.

If you wish any information regarding items in stock, or you wish to donate anything, the Address is:

The Grand Boys Furniture Recycling Centre
10 Hedges Loan
Bannockburn, Stirling

(Behind the Public Library on the main street, if visiting)

Please remember to keep moving when in the shop, or you may be sold!

We would also like to stress that unfortunately, we cannot sell everything you may wish to donate, fabric material eg. beds, suites etc. must be fire resistant before we can sell them on and also saves us from transporting stuff to the dump regularly, which takes time and diesel. So PLEASE DO NOT BE OFFENDED if we decline your kindly donated items. We must abide by the rules and also its just a wee shop!!!

Shop telephone: 01786 - 810868

House clearances can also be carried out within the Central Scotland area.

Grand Boys merchandise is also available at shop.
